Overview
We are committed to fostering a bilingual environment and are proud to report that almost a quarter of our workforce are proficient in Welsh. This reflects our dedication to promoting the Welsh language and culture, ensuring that we serve our community effectively and inclusively.
We are proud to announce that we are actively working towards achieving the Cynnig Cymraeg (Welsh Offer) accreditation with the Welsh Language Commissioner. This commitment reflects our dedication to supporting and promoting the Welsh language within our organisation and beyond.
To guide our journey, we have developed a collaborative Welsh Language Development Plan, which sets clear and measurable targets for improving our use of Welsh across all areas of our work. This plan has already led to several meaningful actions:
Staff Welsh Language Audit: We conducted an internal audit to assess the confidence levels of our team in using the Welsh language.
Training & Support: Colleagues who identified themselves as ‘not confident’ have been offered access to Welsh language training courses, helping them develop their skills and grow their confidence.
PPE and Visual Identity for Welsh Speakers: Confident Welsh speakers have been provided with PPE items featuring the Iaith Gwaith (Working Welsh) logo—such as helmets, high-vis jackets, and lanyards—making it easier for the public and colleagues to identify who can speak Welsh. They also display the logo on their email signatures.
Bilingual Communications: Our website is now fully bilingual, ensuring accessibility for Welsh and English speakers alike. We have also committed to maintaining bilingual content across all social media platforms.
Office Signage: All signage within our offices is now bilingual, creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for both staff and visitors.
We are excited about the progress we’ve made and remain fully committed to embedding the Welsh language throughout our organisation. The Cynnig Cymraeg accreditation is an important milestone for us, and we look forward to continuing this journey in partnership with the Welsh Language Commissioner.
As part of our commitment to promoting the Welsh language and culture, we are proud to support Urdd Gobaith Cymru and their incredible work across Wales.
We’ve been actively involved in Urdd sports events, helping to encourage participation, wellbeing, and the use of the Welsh language in a fun, inclusive environment. These events play a vital role in engaging young people through sport while keeping Welsh at the heart of their experience.
In addition, we’ve proudly supported the Wrexham Regional Eisteddfod, a celebration of Welsh music, literature, performance, and identity. Events like the Eisteddfod are key to sustaining Welsh culture, and we’re honoured to play a part in bringing communities together to celebrate their heritage.
Through these partnerships, we aim not only to show our support for the language but also to ensure it thrives in everyday life—whether on the pitch or on the stage
